The Life Skills Seminar program offered by the Municipality of South Bruce will teach foundational skills for everyday life.
The Affording Healthy Seminar will include classes Small-Scale Gardening, Personal Finances and Physical Education.
Small-Scale Gardening will be taught by Ashley Grant. Ashley is a passionate gardener who understands the importance of limiting processed foods, and getting back to the basics in the kitchen - using whole, nutritious and home grown foods. Ashley’s workshop will have students creating their own small-scale garden to promote a healthy mind and body, while yielding useful vegetables and herbs.
Personal Finances will be taught by Heather Bentley. Heather is part of the Finance team with the Municipality of South Bruce. She holds certifications in payroll and bookkeeping. Heather has extensive experience with the processes involved with budgeting, payroll and bookkeeping. Her course will teach attendees the importance of managing a budget, tips to keep your finances in check and how to develop healthy spending habits.
Physical Education will be taught by Ange Hauck. Ange is a personal trainer and nutrition coach with 12 years of fitness experience helping hundreds of individuals around the world in their physical fitness journey. Ange’s workshop will teach students the most effective ways to move their bodies to gain strength, gain confidence, lose body fat and build muscle. Plus she'll show how to make this happen with limited equipment and limited time.
